A Man’s Place Is In The Garage
While a woman’s place may or may not be in the kitchen, a man’s favorite place is almost always the garage. A man’s garage is his castle, where he keeps, washes and waxes, and works on his favorite possession, his car. A man’s garage is where he can spend thousands of happily uninterrupted hours on home improvement projects, which might even include cleaning or fixing the garage itself.
A man’s garage is also the place where he and his buddies can congregate to discuss their favorite sports teams, or politicians, or their jobs, or, of course their cars. They can relax with their beers and remain totally unperturbed by the world outside.
Man’s Favorite Pastime:
One of my unsurpassed most wanted ways to waste a Saturday morning is to visit garage sales, probably since I have so many great memories of going to garage sales with my mother and my grandmother. I remember waking up early and eating my breakfast as quickly as I could so that we could get out and explore the many garage sales that were held around our town during the spring and summer.
Now that I have become an interior designer, I love visiting garage sales even more. I know, it might sound like a strange place to pick up items for customers, but I have found some of the best and most unique pieces for many of my homes at garage sales. The things that some people find useless are a treasure to others.
Why All Men Preferred Garage:
If you are feeling like you have a little too much clutter in your own home, consider putting on a garage sale. There is no better way to simplify your life than to get rid of unnecessary stuff. Once a year I make every member of my family go through all of their belongings to see what they do and do not need. We then throw a weekend long garage sale to sell our items. My children are in the habit of living simply and having yearly garage sales has been a great way for us to work together on something as a family and to bond together.
So whether you are headed out to purchase new things at garage sales or if you are ready to throw one of your own, be encouraged those garage sales are great. They are one of the best ways to reuse great things. Today’s garage owners have more options than ever to make-over the one area of the house that is so often neglected and left for dead. With a weekend and a good plan, you can get your garage organized and make it the envy of the neighborhood.
Multipurpose:
In order to organize your garage, you’ll want to buy and install some garage storage systems. There are literally hundreds of items available to do this. You can get complete storage cabinet systems, shelving, wall storage systems, garage loft storage, lawn tool holders, wall hangers and many other options.
Finding the proper items on how to organize your garage is simple these days. There are dozens of online stores that specialize in garage storage products and will ship them right to your home – saving you hours of searching the home improvement and hardware stores. Remote controls have been upgraded as well. You can find a remote control that has enough buttons to control the lightening and/or appliances in your home and garage. Another option for the remote-control buttons are the child-safe lock-out and rolling security codes which automatically change every time the garage door opens, in order to prevent someone from stealing your opener’s code.
